For the marinade:

¼ cup hoisin sauce

2 tbsp rice wine

2 tbsp soy sauce

1 tsp rice vinegar

½ tsp sesame oil

2-3 garlic cloves, finely grated


Any meat to be cooked quickly is good for this dish: fillet of beef or pork, chicken or duck. Cut the meat in mid-sized pieces (1.5-2 cm). Mix the ingredients together to make the marinade and leave the meat to marinate in the fridge for several hours. Bake in the oven, pouring over the marinade, or simmer on stove top until tender. You may want to serve it with white rice.
